ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer with a strong background in underground wet utilities to join a top-tier contractor.
In this role, you will play a vital role in the successful planning, execution, and completion of heavy civil projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Heavy Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred. A minimum of three (3)years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least two years specifically focused on underground wet utilities, is required.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of underground wet utility systems and construction methods. Proficiency in reading and interpreting project plans and specifications.
- Software Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Word, Excel), Bluebeam, and other relevant heavy civil software.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards, relevant laws, regulations, and governmental requirements.
- Other Requirements: Valid driver's license.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Project Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera software, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of progress and any changes.
- Cost Control: Monitor project costs, investigate discrepancies, and prepare progress estimates.
- Change Management: Process change orders and manage force accounts and back charges.
- Project Administration: Attend project meetings, prepare minutes, and assist with project closeout activities, including quantity take-offs and as-built documentation.
- Communication & Collaboration: Effectively communicate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients, ensuring smooth project execution.
