Unlike competitors who chase volume, this firm specializes in the complex: soft-ground tunneling, hard rock mining, and navigating volatile mixed-face geology beneath densely populated urban centers.
This position offers the unique opportunity to work with an established regional hub in NJ, while acting as the strategic core for the company's most ambitious project controls and scheduling operations. You will develop and implement advanced procedures, systems, and reports that address project status and long-term financial forecasts for megaprojects ranging up to multi-billion-dollar valuations.

Reporting to division and corporate management, you will bridge the gap between construction operations, financial forecasting, and the client.

Total Compensation: $150,000 - $210,000
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Premium Compensation: Competitive Base Salary + 15-20% Area Living Allowance + 10% Performance Bonus target.

- Mid-Atlantic Water Sector: A $500M waterfront tunnel system that utilized state-of-the-art EPB TBMs to completely eliminate combined sewer overflow (CSO) under a historic district.
- East Coast Transit Mastery: Excavation of four distinct twin soft-ground tunnels utilizing massive pressurized face TBMs, navigating directly beneath critical rail infrastructure and major rail yards in a dense metropolitan center.
- West Coast Urban Transit Expansion: Delivery of 2 miles of twin-bored tunnels and multiple underground stations through the heart of a major downtown financial district, alongside ongoing construction of nearly 7 miles of twin-bored tunnels navigating natural fault zones.
- Pacific Northwest Infrastructure: Mined twin tunnels utilizing EPB TBMs through highly variable, glacially-deposited soils beneath densely populated residential zones and major interstates.
BID PURSUITS:
Looking ahead, the firm is aggressively pursuing several of the most complex, high-value underground packages within the nation's historic, multi-billion dollar mega-programs.
These pursuits require a Project Controls Manager who can lead scheduling and cost forecasting strategies on massive single-bore transit expansions and trans-river rail tunnels.

- Underground Megaprojects (NY/NJ): Targeting a multi-billion dollar rail tunnel package to bore two new 4.5-mile parallel tubes beneath major rivers and palisades, securing dominance in the Northeast rail corridor.
- Urban Transit Expansions: Strategic design-build proposals and award targets for major subway phase 2 extensions in prominent East Coast metropolitan hubs.
- Mid-Atlantic Rail Tunnels: Upcoming multi-package RFPs for major historic rail tunnel replacements.
- West Coast Single-Bore Transit: Major re-procurements for advanced single-bore transit systems in the Silicon Valley region.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Reporting to division and corporate management, you will bridge the gap between construction operations, financial forecasting, and the client.
Lead Project Controls & Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain the complex project schedule using the Critical Path Method (CPM) as well as linear scheduling techniques.
- Manage the procurement schedule for the project, ensuring alignment with critical path field operations.
- Oversee and finalize the preparation of the monthly pay application for submission to the client.
- Prepare monthly project cash flow analysis and assist in the preparation and maintenance of the project Schedule of Values.
- Manage subcontractor contracts, payments, and comprehensive labor reporting for the project.
- Interface with client management and coordinate project control with other related programs.
- Work directly with management on planning, staffing, budgeting, quality control, safety, and the coordination of internal technical and support staff.
- Participate as a key decision-maker in all matters regarding cost and schedule.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Field Roots: 10 years of experience working directly with a construction contractor in heavy civil, infrastructure, or underground environments.
- Heavy Civil DNA: Deep ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, paired with extensive knowledge of construction accounting techniques.
- Tech Stack: Expert proficiency with Primavera P6 scheduling software and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills. The ability to work independently while freely accessing all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering is strictly required.
