Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $190,000 - $220,000
- Total Compensation: $280,000+ including performance-based incentives and bonuses

The Opportunity
The Business Development Director will lead strategic growth efforts across industrial construction markets, including energy, water, manufacturing, and heavy civil infrastructure. You'll identify new opportunities, cultivate partnerships, and collaborate with internal estimating and project teams to deliver winning proposals.
This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial leader who understands both relationship-driven business development and the operational realities of industrial construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute long-term business development strategies that align with corporate growth goals
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, client engagement, and networking
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding key drivers and decision processes
- Collaborate with estimating and proposal teams to create competitive, high-quality bids and presentations
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and professional events to expand market reach
- Partner with leadership across all business units to identify internal collaboration and joint-venture opportunities
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and upcoming bid opportunities to position the company strategically
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in business processes, CRM utilization, and client communication strategies
- Develop and report on KPIs to track success and inform executive decision-making
- Support strategic planning, including annual business development goals, regional growth strategies, and revenue targets
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 10+ years of proven experience in business development, marketing, or operations within industrial construction
- Strong understanding of construction services, industrial markets, and project delivery methods
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client engagement skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships at executive and field levels
- Experience with CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on leadership style and strong commercial acumen
- Willingness to travel regularly for client meetings, site visits, and industry events
